The Panther Cross Country Squad of 16 boys and girls competes at the Division I North Coast Section Championships on Saturday November 19, at Hayward High School. The girls run at 10:30 AM and the boys at High Noon. The reward is a trip to the California State Championships in Fresno the following Saturday. A trip to this meet is to compete in the largest State Championship in the country against the best in the country. To be there is to be elite. If either of our teams finish in the top two the team goes to Woodward Park in Fresno. If an individual finishes in the top 5 on a non qualifying team while being in the top 12 overall will earn a trip to Woodward Park. That is a tough assignment but getting to the greatest meet is not supposed to be easy. Each of you could make it easier though by being there to root on and encourage our Panther runners. The girls team of seniors Evvy Archibald, Eva Herbst, Marina Lecoeuche, and Emily Rozga, juniors Natalie Fritz and Sadia Ibrahim, sophomore Sarah Withers and freshman Emma Pierson leave from the swim center on Ridgway at 7:s0 while the boys, seniors Jordan Guerrero, Connor Moore, Jonathan Peck, and Michael Tomasi, juniors Jonathan Ahnberg, Michael Kennedy, and Cris Nazarek and sophomore Aden Holmes depart from the same at 8:30.
If you are unable to make the trip perhaps you can be at the Swim Center to sendoff with all of our reknown Panther Pride and spirit the best runners at our school. There could be some extra seats for those that would like to make the trip and please be brightly ORANGE if that be the case.
Our teams are competitive and ready. More ready than could be asked for. Determined they are and proud they are. They are after all Panthers.
GO PANTHERS!
