Panthers of the Week: Episode 2

This past weekend at the Ed Sias Invitational saw several outstanding performances, but two stood out for very different reasons.

Girl Panther of the Week: Caitlin Young. Captain Caitlin rebounded magnificently from a disappointing season opener at Rancho to scorch the hot course at Hidden Valley Park. Competing in the JV division, Caitlin ran an aggressive first mile to put her with the leaders, and she held on to finish 5th! Hill? What hill? Her perfomance embodies what all great athletes need: resilience -- the ability to bounce back when things don't go your way. Just goes to show you what belief in yourself can do!

Boy Panther of the Week: Aden Holmes. What a debut! SRHS has never had a freshman run as fast as Aden did at Ed Sias. Running in the frosh/soph race, Aden clocked 11:46, a time that was the 4th fastest of ALL the boys competing for SRHS that day. His potential is untapped, especially given the relatively little training he has done so far. Welcome to Varsity!
